Cat lover waits 2 years for a Cat Distribution System assignment before a tiny stray kitten takes matters into her own paws

The Cat Distribution System took two years to make this delivery, but Miso needed less than a minute to know she was home.

Some people wait years for the Cat Distribution System to finally notice them. After two years of patiently waiting for an assignment, one hopeful cat lover finally got theirs, and apparently the CDS decided to make the delivery impossible to ignore.

A tiny stray suddenly scurried across their backyard and latched directly onto their pants. Naturally, they stopped to give her some pets. That was all the invitation this little girl needed.

She immediately climbed all the way up onto their neck.

At that point, what exactly are you supposed to do? The cat has chosen you. The paperwork is basically complete.

The newly assigned kitten came home and wasted absolutely no time settling in. Despite living outside, she was incredibly affectionate, well-behaved, and completely comfortable with her new hooman. She even curled up with them for an entire night of sleep.

Apparently, this wasn't quite as spontaneous on the kitten's end as it seemed. She was found in the backyard, leading her new pawrent to suspect she may have been watching them for a few days before finally making her move. We love a kitty who does her research before choosing a family.

She's since been named Miso, after miso soup, because her coloring reminded her new pawrent of tofu and soup. We can't argue with that logic.

Miso is playful, ridiculously affectionate, and especially fond of sleeping directly on top of her chosen human. Most surprising is just how quickly she adjusted. There was practically no nervous introduction period at all. Within less than a minute, Miso seemed ready to accept that this was her home now.

After two years of waiting for the CDS to send an assignment, getting a kitten who literally climbed onto her new pawrent and refused to leave feels like a pretty purrfect delivery.

  • Miso looks so precious we can barely handle it. That sweet little face makes it pretty easy to understand how she went from random backyard kitten to sleeping on top of her new hooman in record time. She looks so tiny, cozy, and completely innocent, even though we’re sure plenty of kitten mischief is coming soon. With a face like that, she’s going to get away with absolutely everything. Her new pawrent might as well start practicing saying yes now.

  • Miso really might be your soul cat. She didn’t cautiously hang around for weeks deciding whether you could be trusted. She saw you, grabbed onto your pants, climbed up to your neck, and apparently decided that was that. By bedtime, she was already sleeping on top of you like she’d been doing it forever. Some cats take months to choose their person, while Miso seems to have made her decision almost immediately. We’d say the CDS knew exactly what it was doing with this match.

  • Now that the CDS has finally made its first delivery, we have to wonder how long it’ll be before the next one shows up. Once you’ve been approved for the program, there’s no telling how many assignments might come your way. Miso could just be the beginning! Maybe another little stray is already somewhere nearby, filling out the paperwork and waiting for the right moment to appear. Better start making room now, just in case the CDS decides one cat simply isn’t enough.
